After I finished the reading of topic 4 and the twitter chat, I have merged some thoughts on how is twitter as a tool for open learning. On twitter, there are a lot of information are being shared, include in all kinds of industry such as politics, technology, sport and so on, we can say its a good thing that have such broad selections of contents that we can access, but it could also be distracting by all kinds of push notifications and advertisements. Twitter could help learners by several different ways, such as the wide diversity of the content, learners might saw something that they didn’t intend to search for, but eventually found it interesting and useful, and also could help learners by browsing the comments and other’s thoughts on certain content, that could be inspiring and helpful in so many different ways, and one last thing is that twitter is totally free, so that release a lot of stresses from learners who have financial problems. Twitter could also harm learners, because of the sensitive contents on twitter, for example porn, violence, cults and so on, twitter have its weak side of content filtering which might harm underages and cause misunderstanding and harassments.
